A Summer in Provincetown
It's a place I return to often, and one that has inspired some of my favorite work.
Certain places become part of your creative vocabulary. Places that quietly shape the way you see color, pattern, and the world around you.
For me, Provincetown has always been one of them.
Perched at the very tip of Cape Cod, it feels like a place apart. It’s a town shaped by artists, writers, fishermen, dreamers, and decades of creative freedom. The landscape is dramatic and ever-changing. Dunes roll into the sea. Cottages wear layers of weathered paint. Gardens spill over fences. Everything feels a little sun-faded, a little salt-worn, and all the more beautiful because of it.
It’s a place we call home part of the year, and one that has inspired some of my favorite work.
Last summer, Clove & Creek began carrying our Toile de Provincetown pillows. The response was so warm that this season, they invited Post House to take over a portion of their second floor, which has recently been expanded into an even larger destination for home and lifestyle.
For the space, we built a small cabana wrapped in our Riviera Stripes — a cheerful green retreat inspired by the coast. I wanted it to feel like something you might stumble upon after a long walk through town: colorful, welcoming, and a little transportive. Against the backdrop of Clove & Creek’s curated collection of antiques, it creates a moment of pattern and color that immediately catches the eye.
At the center of the installation is the Toile de Provincetown collection.
The pattern began as a love letter to the town itself. Filled with local landmarks, beloved buildings, hidden corners, and imagined memories, it celebrates the unique spirit of Provincetown through illustration. Available in several colorways, each version takes on its own personality — from classic coastal blues to softer neutrals and bolder interpretations inspired by the changing colors of the Cape.
What I love most about the toile is that it isn’t simply a pattern of a place. It’s about the feeling of a place. The excitement of arriving for the summer. The sound of bicycles passing by open windows. The glow of Commercial Street at sunset. The sense that creativity and possibility are always just around the corner.
That’s what Provincetown has always represented for me.
This summer, I’m excited to see Post House become a small part of that story.
